Is InvoiceForge a free invoice generator?
Yes. You can create a USD invoice and download a PDF without paying or creating an account. The site may show ads once AdSense is connected; the tool itself stays free.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no login and no invoice database on a server. If you leave the page, use the optional on-device draft or download the PDF first.
Where is my invoice data stored?
In this browser, if you keep typing — we write a draft to localStorage on your device. The PDF is generated with jsPDF in the same tab. We do not receive the form.
Can I use this for my LLC or sole prop?
Yes, if you are billing in USD. Put the name you want the client to pay. This is not legal-entity software and it does not file anything.
Does the PDF work offline after the page loads?
Once the page and scripts have loaded, creating the PDF does not call a server. A refresh still needs the site’s static files.
Why USD only?
InvoiceForge is aimed at US freelancers. Multi-currency formatting, VAT, and GST are out of scope so the totals stay honest and simple.
Is the tax field official?
No. It multiplies the after-discount subtotal by the percent you type. Read US sales tax on invoices, then confirm your rate with a professional or your state.
Invoice or receipt?
This tool issues invoices — requests for payment. Send a receipt after you are paid. See Invoice vs receipt.
How do I remove a saved draft?
Use Clear on the tool. That wipes the form and the localStorage key. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.
Is this a tax or accounting product?
No. It formats an invoice. It does not calculate income tax, file sales tax, or replace a bookkeeper.
